Arthas and Queenie

Commission for

A humanised version of her own character, Queen of Hearts (or "Queenie" for short), talking to Warcraft-3 Arthas. Here's the brief I was working to (along with a really handy reference sheet for drawing Queenie!)...

"The idea for the picture arose from the way Arthas gives the player an attitude when they click on him, which led to me questioning whether his less powerful superiors would be that willing to issue orders to him when he’s so borderline-disgruntled and threatening all the time. So the idea is that Queenie is supposed to be issuing an order to Arthas, who looks unimpressed and a tad irritable about the whole thing, asking “What is it now?” and Queenie is a bit nervous, maybe leaning away a bit, replying “I actually forgot what order I was going to issue… I’ll just, uh, be going now…”."
